Schneider Packaging Equipment to feature new palletizing process optimization software at the PACK EXPO International

BREWERTON, N.Y. (OCTOBER, 2016) - Schneider Packaging Equipment Co., a leading manufacturer of end-of-line solutions for case packing, sealing and palletizing, is now offering proprietary software to ensure efficient pack patterns for customer palletizing and case packing needs. The pattern generating setup software, introduced for Robox machines, automates layouts in palletizing. The software provides users with an assortment of solutions, based on various case dimensions and usage. Operation is simple and guided through the human-machine interface so nearly anyone on the floor can operate the software.

The Robox machine featuring the palletizing process optimization software will be on display and available for the first time at PACK EXPO International in Chicago, Nov. 6-9, at Schneider's booth, #1706.

"Our goal is to provide our customers with an alternative to setup software provided by robot manufacturers, and keep them focused on one technology and not several software suites," said Bob Brotzki, Schneider Packaging chief operating officer. "The software makes current processes much more efficient, with much lower risk of error. We are excited to announce these improvements to the Robox, our most economical and portable palletizing solution."

The standard manufacturer's software is designed to be open-ended to accommodate multiple uses in the field. The new software by Schneider can be tailored to fit the specific needs of customers. New products can be set up in less than five minutes, and quick adjustments can be made to accommodate existing patterns for special unit loads.

The Robox is a flexible end-of-line palletizer, designed to efficiently pack pallets of various product types. Constantly evolving since its initial development, the Robox features new improvements such as the over/under conveyor, which allows for automatic pallet exchange for continued productivity. Once it is packed, the full pallet is lifted and conveyed out of the cell while the new pallet is transferred to the load station automatically. The palletizing cell never needs to stop operation. With a standard Robox machine, operators are required to supply an empty pallet and position it for the robot to start working. The system must temporarily halt operation for the operator to safely initiate the process.

In addition, the Robox offers a through chain pallet conveyor option, a conveyor system that runs directly through the Robox. With this option, pallets load as they convey through the Robox and completed pallets continue down the manufacturing line. This option offers the flexibility of integrating the Robox and pallet conveyor with automated stretch wrappers.
